Mr. Owen practices in the areas of Reinsurance and Insurance Insolvency/Insurance Defense & Coverage/State and Local Taxation Litigation/Personal Injury/Commercial and Business Law/Class Actions. Since 1991, Mr. Owen has acted as General Counsel to Transit Casualty Company in Receivership and he is the lead litigator for Transit on claims coverage and reinsurance collection actions. Mr. Owen now serves as Outside Counsel to The Home Insurance Company in Liquidation and Midland Insurance Company in Liquidation and several other insurance insolvencies through the New York Liquidation Bureau handling claims and reinsurance matters. He has participated on creditors' committees for other insolvencies in England and Bermuda. He has served as an expert witness in insurance insolvency litigation. He has been speaker at seminars on insurance and reinsurance seminars in St. Louis and around the country. Mr. Owen also has a longstanding practice involving class action and other tax refund work on behalf of large corporations and associations as well as other commercial litigation. Mr. Owen is also the firm's lead personal injury litigator.
