Contessa is an associate who concentrates her practice in defending and counseling both public and private management in all aspects of labor and employment law. Contessa has been admitted to practice in the states of Missouri and Illinois and has been recognized by SuperLawyers as a Rising Star in the fields of Labor and Employment Law, an honor given to only 2.5% of all attorneys in the states of Missouri and Kansas.

Contessa graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law in 2015. While at the University of Missouri, Contessa was honored as a member of The Order of Barristers, a national award given to the Top 10 graduating law students at each member school displaying excellence in the field of advocacy as voted on by members of the law school faculty. She also earned several CALI Awards for Excellence (awarded for the highest grade in each course) and several trial advocacy honors.

Contessa spent much of her time in law school gaining practical knowledge as she was a member of Mizzou Law’s National Trial Competition team and their ABA Labor & Employment Competition Team. She also participated in the Polsinelli Fall Moot Court Competition where she finished in the Top 12 of all students and she was named a Top 10 Oral Advocate in the 1L Moot Court Competition as well. During law school, Contessa also served as a law clerk for the University of Missouri System’s General Counsel where she primarily assisted the General Counsel’s office with matters in the areas of employment law and Title IX. Contessa also worked as a Summer Associate for the national labor and employment defense firm of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart where she assisted with legal research, writing, and advocacy in all fields of labor and employment law.

Contessa is active in her community and passionate about giving back to others. She serves on the Board of Directors for a non-profit called SEED Success Services, which provides initial deposits for Child Savings Account and Child Development Accounts to elementary school students. Contessa also volunteers as a coach for a local high school mock trial team and is a member of several local area organizations.

An avid Mizzou fan, Contessa enjoys heading “home” to Mizzou for football and basketball games in the fall and winter. She also enjoys traveling as often as possible in her free time.
