Stephen J. Smith Equity Partner

Steve primarily represents closely held businesses in all aspects of corporate, business and commercial law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and contracts related to such businesses. He assists clients with matters, including entity selection, asset and real estate transactions, joint ventures, acquisitions, sales, management contracts, shareholder agreements and operating agreements. He provides on-going advice and counsel on day-to-day operational, business, real estate and tax issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Steve was an officer with Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C. and a Partner at Husch Blackwell Sanders LLP. He also worked as a senior tax-accountant at Arthur Young & Company for two years after law school. Steve has completed a number of classes in the LL.M Tax Program at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
